How many times have you called someone and left a message on their voice mail that included, “Sorry we missed you”? How many times have you dropped by someone’s house to find them away, and left a note that included the same words? How many times has someone left you a voice mail or a note including those words? The common phrase for most answering machines or voice mail boxes is, “We’re sorry we’re unable to answer your call right now, but your call is important to us.” That sounds like “Sorry we missed you” to me. Last Sunday, with worship services canceled due to the bad weather, we all missed the opportunity to gather and worship together. If course, many of us took a little time out of our morning to worship as families together. But, I missed you! I missed the opportunity for us all to gather for worship and fellowship. I missed the opportunity we had to enjoy breakfast together sponsored by the United Methodist Men, and to enjoy the program that our Adult Ministries team had prepared.

Fortunately this is one of those repeatable phenomena. We are planning to have our 5th Sunday Church School breakfast and program on February 7th! You can call it “Fifth Sunday on the First Sunday” if you want to. At any rate, you are invited to join us, and we’ll be very sorry if you miss it. You’ll miss a blessing if you can’t come, so we hope to see you on Sunday!

Of course, we’re having a Fellowship Supper on Wednesday night at 5:30 and you’re certainly invited to com ethen. We will be sorry if we miss you then, too.

God bless each one. Gene Feagin, Pastor
