One of the images that always comes into our minds when we think of the Christmas story is the image of the angels appearing to the shepherds and telling them of the good news of the Savior’s birth. The angels were praising God and giving glory to God and promising peace on earth. This Sunday there will be a multitude of the heavenly host at Trinity– proclaiming the good news and singing praises to God. Of course, other times of the year we may call them “The Chancel Choir,” but on Sunday they will, as usual, sing like angels and praise God in ways that draw us all closer to God. There will be only one worship service on Sunday, and it will be at 11:00.Please join us! Afterwards, the United Methodist Men are serving lunch. Tickets are available, and all of the funds raised will go to offset our budgetary shortfall for 2009 (and give us a little head start into 2010). Then, at 4:00 another multitude of the heavenly host will assemble in the Trinity Center for our annual Christmas Caroling expedition to shut-ins, seniors, and to some of the area nursing homes. This time you get to join the heavenly host and sing praises to God. Soup and warming supper will be waiting when we return from caroling. Why not come and sing God’s praise and share the good news of the Christ Child with our friends and neighbors.
I hope to see you all there. Gene Feagin, Pastor
